Day one
Last night I realized that there had been a little bit of a mix-up and I wouldn't be able to come into the office today. In order to make the most of the day, I needed to find something that could still be productive for my J-term. I decided to do some research and watch some videos about pediatricians. Starting out, I watched some general day-in-the-life videos, ranging from medical students in their rotations to pediatricians in hospitals to family doctors. These videos helped me to understand key differences in the work depending on the environment. For example, in hospitals, the patients are all coming in for a medical reason and may need urgent care, but for the family doctors, the patients could be there for a sick visit, but also might just be there for a well check. Through this, family doctors are able to get to know their patients more since they see them year after year. Another type of video I watched was videos about the best and worst parts of being a pedia
